Thrive Behavioral Services — start helping your child today
For families in the first months after a diagnosis

You don't have to wait months to start helping your child.

Real therapy strategies, brought into your living room and taught to you by someone who has sat exactly where you're sitting.

Most families start using something from our first call the same evening.

The weeks after a diagnosis are loud and very quiet at the same time.

You were handed a word for what you'd been noticing, maybe a stack of paperwork, and a waitlist that's eight, twelve, eighteen months long. And then everyone went back to their day.

"I don't know what I'm supposed to do tomorrow morning."

"I'm scared of doing the wrong thing and making it worse."

"Everyone has an opinion and none of them know my kid."

"I want to help him right now, not next spring."

None of that means you're behind. It means nobody has handed you a place to start yet.

A parent is a child's first and best teacher.

Your child spends more hours with you than they will ever spend with any therapist. You already know their sounds, their favorite blanket, the exact pitch of the cry that means too much. What's missing isn't love or attention. It's the how.

Thrive Behavioral Services puts the how in your hands. We work together on the ordinary moments already in your day — snack, bath, the car ride, the floor with the blocks — until those moments become the place where your child learns to communicate with you.

The goal isn't a calmer child for an hour a week. It's a calmer home, a child who has a way to tell you what they need, and a parent who can walk into any meeting and speak clearly about what their kid requires.

The same proven strategies. A completely different setting.

Everything we do is built on evidence-based practice — the same approaches used in clinic-based therapy. The difference is who's teaching it, where it happens, and who ends up holding the skills at the end.

Waiting for a clinic spot

  • Months of waitlist before anything begins.
  • Your child learns in a room that looks nothing like home.
  • Progress gets reported to you in language you have to decode.
  • You're asked to step back so the session can run.
  • Strategies stay with the team that wrote them.

Working with Thrive

  • You start this month, with something to try tonight.
  • Your child learns in the kitchen, the tub, the back seat — where life happens.
  • Everything is explained in plain words, by someone who has been the parent in the chair.
  • You're the one running it. I coach you through it.
  • The skills stay in your family, all day, every day, for good.

If you've been reading this far, it's probably for you.

Thrive is built for families in the early, unsteady part — the ones who want to be hands-on and just need someone to show them where to put their hands.

  • Your child was recently diagnosed and you're still finding your footing.
  • Therapy isn't available yet — waitlist, insurance, distance, or you're still weighing the options.
  • You want to be deeply involved, not handed a report at pickup.
  • You want to play with your child and keep running out of ideas by minute three.
  • You're tired of guessing what your child wants, and of them being unable to tell you.
  • You want someone in your corner who talks to you like a person, not a case file.

And if you already have a team you trust and a plan that's working, you may not need me at all. That's a good thing, and I'll tell you so on the call.

How it works

Three steps, no paperwork pile, no waiting room.

We talk, and I listen first

A relaxed call about your child — what they love, what's hard, what your days actually look like. No forms to fill out beforehand. Bring the kid, bring the mess.

We build a plan around your child

A small set of strategies chosen for your family — your child's interests, your routines, your goals. Personalized, but grounded in practices with real evidence behind them.

You practice, I coach

We meet in your real routines and adjust as we go. You try it during the week, we troubleshoot together, and your confidence grows alongside your child's skills.

What changes when you start

A way to be heard

Your child gets a means of telling you what they want — often within the first weeks, long before a clinic spot opens up.

Calmer days

Fewer meltdowns born of frustration, because there's finally a way to ask. Quieter mornings. Easier transitions.

Play that actually works

You'll know how to get on the floor and hold your child's attention — and enjoy it, instead of dreading it.

Strategies that fit your life

Built around your routines and your child's interests — not a worksheet someone printed for a different family.

Confidence in the meetings

You'll understand your child's diagnosis well enough to ask sharp questions and advocate for the services they deserve.

Someone to turn to

A person on the other end who has been through the same first year and answers honestly when you ask if this is normal.

About me

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Licensed NC Behavior Analyst Mom of 2 20+ years in the field

I've spent over twenty years doing this work in homes, clinics, schools, and out in the community — everywhere a child actually lives their life, not just the rooms set aside for therapy. Along the way I've trained teachers, BCBAs, and RBTs.

But my favorite people to train have always been parents and families. There's nothing quite like watching a parent teach their own child a brand-new skill for the first time — that moment is the real reward, for them and for me.

That's what Thrive is built around: taking everything I know from twenty years of clinical practice and putting it directly into your hands, in your home, with your child.

Start with a conversation.

No commitment, no pitch. Just tell me about your child and I'll tell you honestly whether I can help — and if I can't, where I'd send you instead.

Book a consultation call

Prefer to write it out? Send a message instead →

Here's what the call looks like

  • About 20 minutes, by video or phone — whatever's easier with a toddler in the room.
  • You talk, I listen. Nothing to prepare and no records to dig up.
  • You leave with at least one thing to try that week, whether or not we work together.
Pick a time that works

Or just send me a note.

Not ready for a call yet? Tell me a little about your child and where you're at. I read every message myself.

  • You'll usually hear back within a day or two.
  • Questions are welcome, even the ones you think are silly.
  • No sales sequence, no pressure. Just a person writing back.
